Hourly Sessions - New for 2008

While not practical year round, under some circumstances, a range officer may sometimes be able to open the office and range for brief periods to allow individuals semi-independent practice with personal handguns. After safety orientation at $31.88 per person, a rate of $60 per hour applicable for range use and instructor/range officer remaining on site (with or without coaching). If interest, please see the "required reading" pages here beginning with "General Info.", then contact Lonnie Ward @ dcsa1996@yahoo.com with your contact information.

Laser Sight Enhancements

Certain handguns with laser sights may be available for training or testing during privately scheduled sessions.

While most instructors conclude that modern laser sights are no substitute for traditional marksmanship skills, they have proven to be a great asset for some shooters. Since the laser beam essentially becomes the "front sight" projected onto the target, they may be especially helpful to those with deteriorating vision and/or to help spot common shooting errors (especially anticipation of recoil).

As of Dec. 10, 2009, laser training aids available:

Crimson Trace mounted on S&W 340PD (.38s or .357s)

Crimson Trace mounted on Ruger LCP (.380)

Streamlight TLR-2 mounted on Glock 19, possibly Springfield XD-9-M, Smith & Wesson M&P Compact 9 or on rails of student's pistol.
